Adaptive Bodywork
Adaptive Bodywork is a therapeutic modality that relieves pain, improves range of motion and restores alignment in the body, working with the concept of tensegrity and targeting myofascia, the connective tissue support system. Stemming from Rolfing Structural Integration and Tom Myer’s Anatomy Trains, and complemented by Functional Movement Systems, Adaptive Bodywork looks for the sources of pain to correct compensations patterns, rather than simply addressing the area of complaint. Practitioners use hands, elbows and/or feet to work deeply in the tissue, and sessions involve the active participation of the recipient to effect greater change. www.adaptivebodywork.com
